Darryl Sue, MD

Dr. Sue attended UCLA and the UC San Francisco School of Medicine. He completed his internal medicine training and pulmonary medicine fellowship at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. He joined the faculty in 1979 and became program director of the internal medicine training program in 1992, and currently is Associate Chair of the Department of Medicine, Director of the Medical ICU, and Chair of the Harbor-UCLA Bioethics Committee.  Dr. Sue has interests in cardiopulmonary exercise testing, asthma, pulmonary gas exchange, and acute respiratory failure. Outside of medicine, he is proud of building a 12.5″ Dobsonian-style telescope with microprocessor-based setting circles. He enjoys ballroom dancing (favorites include salsa, foxtrot, waltz, East Coast swing, and a little West Coast swing). He and his wife, whom he met at Harbor-UCLA, have two daughters.

Dr. Witt obtained her medical degree at Stanford University after attending UC Berkeley. She completed her internal medicine training at UCSF and infectious disease fellowship at Harbor-UCLA.  She currently serves as the Director of the Harbor-UCLA HIV Clinic and regularly attends on the inpatient HIV and infectious disease consult services, and medicine wards.  Outside of medicine, she enjoys hiking, bird watching, gardening, traveling, and cooking.  She and her husband, Roger Lewis, MD, PhD, who is Chairmen of the Department of Emergency Medicine, have two children and many pets.

Vintch

Janine R.E. Vintch, MD

Dr. Vintch obtained her medical degree at USC after attending UCLA. She completed her internal medicine residency, chief residency, and pulmonary/critical care fellowship at Harbor UCLA. After completing her fellowship, she pursued additional training in Sleep Medicine. She currently serves as Associate Chief of Administrative Affairs for the Division of General Internal Medicine. In addition, she attends on medicine wards, outpatient ambulatory clinics, Medical ICU, and Pulmonary Consultation and Bronchoscopy service. Outside of medicine, she enjoys camping, fishing, motorcycle riding, reading non-medical related books, and spending time with her boys.

Dr. Chang obtained his medical and undergraduate degrees at UCLA. He completed his internal medicine training and chief residency at Harbor-UCLA and his fellowship in pulmonary and critical care medicine at the University of Washington.  He currently attends on pulmonary consults, medical ICU, and internal medicine wards. His research interest is in improving the delivery of care for patients with sepsis, with a focus on identifying new healthcare models to reduce hospital readmissions.  Outside of medicine, he enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter in the beautiful South Bay.

Dr. Stringer obtained his medical and undergraduate degrees at UCSD. He completed his internal medicine residency, chief residency and pulmonary/critical fellowship at Harbor-UCLA. In 2000, he became Chairman of the Department of Medicine. His research interests include cardiopulmonary exercise testing and pharmacologic interventions in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.  He enjoys classical and bluegrass music, scuba diving and is a noted history buff. Recently, he was instrumental in helping his golf team win the annual Harbor golf tournament.
