chose Harbor to serve the county patient population while working in a
rigorous academic environment. Also, the down-to-earth residents
made me feel at home. What is your favorite thing to do in Torrance/Los Angeles? I love going for a run on the beach in Venice on my day off! What would you do if you weren't a doctor? I would probably be an elementery school teacher

chose Harbor first and foremost because of the patients. Secondly
because Harbor is an amazing county program service the largest and one
of the most underserved counties in America that provides excellent
medical care to all. Thirdly, because of the great teaching
faculty and housestaff devoted to education and out patient population. What is your favorite thing to do in Torrance/Los Angeles? Riding my bike,
exploring Long Beach, taking public transportation (yes, LA has public
transportation!), finding the best Taco Tuesday dive, happy hour with
friends. What would you do if you weren't a doctor? A teacher -- actually I still plan on being a teacher :-)
Last meal and where to find it? My grandma's llapingachos (Ecuadorian dish of potato pancakes with PB sauce, steak, rice, salad, and plantains.

What is your favorite thing to do in Torrance/Los Angeles? Lying by my pool.. my co-intern's pool.. the beach.. on my days off. What would you do if you weren't a doctor? LAPD homicide detective.. or food critic.
Last meal and where to find it? Double-double animal style with well done fries, found at any of the million In-N-Outs in Los Angeles.

is great! For me it's the perfect combination of camaraderie,
supportive faculty, autonomy, fascinating pathology, and diverse, fun
patients. What is your favorite thing to do in Torrance/Los Angeles? Hanging out
with friends, people-watching, and reading at the awesome used
bookstore across the street from my apartment. I also love
exploring all if LA's diverse neighborhoods (especially all the great
food-- from Korean to Mexican, we have it all!). What would you do if you weren't a doctor? So many choices! I think I'd be
torn between a job in international policy vs. trying to figure out a
way to get on "The Real Housewives of NYC."
Last meal and where to find it? This one's easy: my mom's cooking, currently being served around the kitchen table at my parents' house.

is a place from which you can't help but come out strong, humbled, and
fearless (relatively)... with sunshine and beaches nearby! What is your favorite thing to do in Torrance/Los Angeles? Lay out in the sun, eat, get massages, live in flip flops and shorts (I come from Seattle). What would you do if you weren't a doctor? Business of some sort.. perhaps learn to cook

embodies the ideal residency program, provides some of the best
clinical, hands-on training with a real sense of camaraderie you won't
find at other programs. Rotating here as a medical student, I
never understood how they can work so hard and still seem pretty happy.
I know that now.. oh and plus incredible autonomy and diversity of
pathology. What is your favorite thing to do in Torrance/Los Angeles? Discovering the next great
new place to eat in Torrance and the harbor. Don't let all the
fast food deceive you.. there are some amazing local foods in the area. What would you do if you weren't a doctor? Bioengineer. Because math and science together are like the perfect.. okay nerd alert..
Last meal and where to find it? Great burrito and burger places right around Harbor. Don't worry, they've got nice salads too.
